TRY THIS GREAT FAMILY STYLE MARYLAND CRAB CAKE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
8 ounces backfin or lump crab meat Flaked and picked over
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/8 teaspoon mustard seeds Use freshly ground mustard seed or you can use dry mustard
1/2 tablespoon mayonnaise Use low oil low fat type
1/2 tablespoon sour cream
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
1 1/2 teaspoons mustard use prepared and I prefer Dijon style
1 1/2 teaspoons unsalted butter melted
3/4 teaspoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/4 cup white bread breadcrumbs
METHOD
Step One Place all the ingredients in a large bowl except the crab meat and mix together well
Step Two Gently fold in the crab meat.
Step Three Divide the crab cake mixture into 4 equal parts. Shape the mixture into patties of around ¾ inch thick.
Step Four Preheat some peanut or canola oil in a fry pan.
Step Five Gently fry for 3 minutes and turn once, cook until golden brown, and that is your Baltimore Crab Cakes ready to enjoy. Serve with your favorite sauce!

INGREDIENTS Serves 6 people
16 ounces lump crabmeat flaked and picked over
1 cup saltine cracker crumbs
2 eggs beaten lightly
¼ cup green onions (shallots) finely chopped
¼ cup fresh parsley minced
¼ cup mayonnaise use low fat as its less oily
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon green pepper sauce
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
Black pepper
¼ cup vegetable oil
METHOD
Step One Combine the crabmeat, 1/4 cup of the cracker crumbs, beaten eggs, chopped green onions, minced parsley, mayonnaise, lemon juice, pepper sauce, salt and black pepper to taste in a large bowl. Fold the mixture over well so as to evenly combine all the ingredients
Step Two Shape the crab cake mixture into 12 crab cakes. Use 1/4 cup of the crab mixture for each crab cake pattie.
Step Three Place the remaining 3/4 cup of Saltine cracker crumbs into a bowl.
Step Four Coat each crab cake with the crumb mixture, and lightly press the cracker crumbs into each crab cake.
Step Five Place the cakes onto a plate, then cover and refrigerate for around an hour.
Step Six Heat the oil and butter in large skillet or fry pan over a medium heat until butter is melted.
Step Seven Place in the crab cakes and cook for around 3 to 4 minutes until they are golden brown on the bottoms.
Step Eight Turn the crab cakes over and then cook for 3 minutes until golden brown. So now all you have to do is decide on a sauce and enjoy! You can eat all your Baltimore Crab Cakes alone or even share then with friends and family.
