Crab Dip Recipes
THE BEST CRAB DIP RECIPES
This crab dip recipe uses mayonnaise and eggs to give a rather different flavor, and again you can add in some shrimp as well. Also I like to add in some crab meat sticks that add some color and bulk as tinned and fresh crab meat can get costly if on a budget.
INGREDIENTS
1 can (7 1/2 ounces) crab meat drained and flaked
1 hard boiled egg and I use a free range egg as they tend to have better flavour, chop the egg into small pieces
1/2 cup mayonnaise and you can use Hellmans or make your own
2 teaspoons lemon juice and also I like to vary this with fresh lime
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard and I prefer a French style mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
METHOD
Step One Combine the crab meat, the choppedegg, mayonnaise and all the other ingredients in a large bowl
Step Two Mix the ingredients well and ensure they are well blended
Step Three You can use a blender on this as well but don’t puree the mix, allow some texture to remain
Step Four Place the mix in a bowl and chill until needed.
Step Five garnish the top as required, and a few drops of lemon or lime juice on the top
